Prior to founding Via Care, Villar served as Senior Vice President of External Relations for Bienvenidos Children’s Center and also served as Chief Development Officer for the Weingart Center, one of the regions preeminent homeless nonprofits.

An experienced fundraiser and community organizer, in the early 2000’s, Villar worked successfully to broaden the funding base both privately and publicly for both organizations, that resulted in new programs, greater capabilities and innovation in the field.  Villar also spent 6 years with Clínica Oscar Romero as Director of Development and External Affairs.

With a lifelong commitment to serving the healthcare needs of some of the most disenfranchised communities, Villar began her career serving the homeless community through her work at the Community Health Foundation in East Los Angeles as Director of Operations and led their Community Relations division. She helped successfully secure JACHO (Joint Commission) accreditation for the organization – the highest distinction for excellence in the healthcare field.

Villar currently serves on the Southern California Gas Company Advisory Board most recently, served as Board Chair for CHAP Healthcare.  She has served on the Boards of numerous nonprofit organizations including Clínica Romero as Board Chair.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, Villar is a proud Angeleno who earned her BA in Liberal Arts from California State University, Los Angeles.  She is especially proud today to serve the community where she, her family and friends all began their service to the community. Villar is the proud mother of two wonderful sons.
