Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jonathan Weedman has enjoyed over 30 years of extensive professional experience working in the corporate, non-profit and community sectors. This includes today as Chief External Relations Officer for Via Care, one of the Los Angeles Regionโs preeminent healthcare providers to underserved communities. Prior to that, Weedman served as the 6th Executive Director for Gay Menโs Chorus of Los Angeles, a nationally recognized performing arts organization where under his leadership, he made substantial contributions needed to strengthen the organizationโs infrastructure, fundraising performance and artistic achievements.
From 1996 to 2017, Weedman served as Senior Vice President for the Wells Fargo Foundation and directed the companyโs philanthropic, volunteer and community engagement programs for the Southern California Region and the State of Arizona, with an annual contributions budget of over $20 million. He also served as Cultural Affairs Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and was Founding Chair of the Grand Park Foundation appointed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina.
He has served on numerous Boards of Directors including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Colburn School, Project Angel Food, and is Chair Emeritus of the Young Musicians Foundation. He currently serves on the Boards of Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles and as Chairman of the Board of the California Heritage Museum. He most recently was appointed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger to the LA County Commission on HIV. A third generation Californian and classically trained pianist, Weedman attended USC and UCLA, and is the grandson of former California Governor Goodwin Knight. He and his husband Raymundo Baltazar live in Altadena.
