On Tuesday, March 18th, we had the honor of joining U.S. Representative Judy Chu at the “Protect Medicaid: Day of Action” hosted by the representative at the Pasadena Senior Center. To a crowd of over 100 seniors and community members, Rep. Chu spoke of the importance of protecting Medicaid and Medicare and the work her party is doing in Congress to safeguard these benefits for her constituents.
Via Care’s Chief External Affairs Officer, Jonathan Weedman, joined Louise McCarthy, President & CEO of CCALAC, speaking alongside Rep. Judy Chu at the event. Jonathan spoke of the role community health centers play as healthcare providers for Medicaid and Medicare recipients.
Additionally, we celebrated the launch of Via Care’s new mobile clinic! Our new mobile clinic was made possible thanks to a federal appropriation championed by Rep. Chu. With our new mobile clinic, we are now able to take our services beyond the walls of our physical clinics to the Southern California communities that need them most. We offer onsite medical care, behavioral healthcare, benefits assistance, and supportive services from experienced Via Care providers.
